#28: Imperfect Reflections on Inequality and Race in America
Episode 28: Taking A Moment From Beauty: Imperfect Reflections on Inequality and Race in America, Urban Soc, and Self-Reliance as Anti-Racism Practice
The title of today’s episode sums it up. I wanted to speak from both my heart, and my sociologically trained mind on current events. I also feel very strongly that self-reliance is an integral part of anti-racism and anti-inequality work for people with social and racial privilege. I touched on this at the end, but frankly it needs another whole episode to dig deeper.
Episode Notes:
For a copy of the urban sociology prelim exam I wrote in 2010 on neighborhoods and residential segregation referenced, a pdf will be available (for free) for the rest of the month on Patreon. After the end of June, I will move it behind the $3/month level pay wall so it will be available indefinitely to Patrons of L’Amour/Your Purpose is Beauty.
